Migration Strategy
Side-by-side publishes new feature layers in Velocity. In-place reuses your existing GeoEvent Server feature layers.
Side-by-side migration (recommended)
In-place migration (not recommended)
Verify referenced ArcGIS URLs
Issues anonymous, credential-less GET requests from your browser to ArcGIS Online and feature service URLs referenced by the configuration so the migration guide can flag items that are no longer reachable. Turn off if your organization restricts outbound traffic from this workstation; the migration guide will then note that each referenced URL requires manual verification.
Flatten nested fields and arrays
When a source schema contains nested objects or arrays, the generated feed enables Velocity's flatten and flatten-arrays options so nested values become individual scalar fields, and the Map Fields tool references those flattened names. Turn off to keep the feed schema un-flattened and mirror the GeoEvent configuration; in that case nested objects and arrays arrive in Velocity as strings and the affected Map Fields expressions need manual handling.
